‘Save A Turkey. Don’t Eat One.’
Thursday, November 6th, 2003Considerations for celebrating a Gentle Thanksgiving:
http://www.gentlethanksgiving.org/about.htm — food for thought
http://www.gentlethanksgiving.org/recipies.htm includes side-dish recipes and links to other sites with recipes. This page also includes links to companies where “unturkeys” can be ordered for the main dish.
Here is another site with Thanksgiving recipes:

The Vegetable Tofu Loaf might be an alternative for anyone whose homemade tofu turkey left something to be desired. (Although I haven’t tried making a tofu turkey yet, I suspect they are probably only as artistic as the cook. That’s why, if I were going to go to the work of creating something, I would opt for a nut roast.)
For the gourmet cook (anyone who is more adept in the kitchen than I am, and who enjoys creating masterpieces from scratch), here is a list of sites that have recipes for nut roasts, which are festive, filling, and could easily become the new tradition for holiday meals, if you are interested in starting a new tradition. And why not?
(Also, I posted information last year at ‘Vegetarian Thanksgiving Alternatives’. But there may be some duplications on that page.)
