Please note the following from the House of Deputies, 1994, about wild animals, the next time a church decides to have a wild-life "slaughter-fest for fun and profit":
"Affirm the inherent goodness and value of all creatures by virtue of their creation by God, independent of their aesthetic or utilitarian value to humanity or the human enterprise; and affirm the right of all wild creatures to natural habitat in sufficient quantity and quality that will insure their species’ continuation and natural development, to protect and sustain both the integrity of each species and the biodiversity of the planet, with which it has been imbued by God; and call upon the members of the Episcopal Church to adopt lifestyles that are consistent with these principles and to urge legislators to draft and work for the adoption of appropriate laws that will provide for the protection of the rights of all wild creatures to natural habitat, not only those now deemed 'endangered' species."To reiterate something I read elsewhere:
Species don't suffer. Individual animals suffer.
Although this resolution didn't make it past both Houses, Episcopalians (of all people) should do all in their power to protect the rights of all wild creatures... not only those now deemed "endangered" species.
Here is a simple message aimed at the predatory gun-worshipping Christians:
Please stop killing wild animals to serve at your church dinners!
"But for the sake of some little mouthful of flesh, we deprive a soul of the sun and light and of that proportion of life and time it had been born into the world to enjoy."(If you feel compelled to kill animals for your own personal entertainment, or as a pastime, or because you're "bored", don't do it in the name of the Church! Think of other ways to support your church, that don't involve recreational killing!)

“Cruelty to animals is as if man did not love God.”
-- Cardinal John Henry Newman, 1801-1890
