Hate Crime

Here’s something I found tonight, that a[nother] group of PETA-hating conservatives thinks is so funny:

I equate this unnecessary violence against animals just to make a statement, to the KKK setting fire to a cross on the lawn of someone they don’t like — except for the difference between the victims of their hate. Same spirit.

And to think this is funny because of the statement it makes without looking at the violence it took to create their “art” really demonstrates a cultural callousness, moral blindness — or worse.

“We need to bring home to people that all cruel behaviour, whoever or whatever the victims, is the expression of a deep evil flaw in human nature, and that all who oppose and fight it, in whatever form, are crusading against a curse that could destroy us all.”
ó Bishop John Austin Baker, U.K.
