Listen to Dr. Michael Greger, while taking action against canned hunts
While perusing this site, or surfing the Internet, you can listen to some informative talks by Michael Greger, MD here: http://www.drgreger.org/talks
I’ve listed to two, so far, and highly recommend them:
“Mad Cow Disease: Plague of the 21st Century?”, and
“Corporate Globalization: Trading Away Our Right to Protect Animals” along with the environment, our own best interests, etc., etc.
Crank up a talk, and then come back to look around while you listen.
(If you have no other reason for wanting to go vegetarian this Lent, you might change your mind if you’d listen to the first talk! It isn’t a matter of one known cow who was killed a year ago, or one affected species. You’re not going to hear this from the FDA or the meat industry, because they have more interest in protecting the economy, than protecting you.)
I thought you might be interested in this HSUS campaign to stop
canned hunting - the abhorrent practice of confining exotic
animals in an enclosed space with no chance of escape and
shooting them at close range. If you go to the URL below you can
find out more about this issue and send your own message
directly to your Senators. Please go to the action alert from
The HSUS at

Today’s post bumped the following from the home page:
- ‘Why give up meat (and fish) for Lent?’
- video of the Rev. Al Sharpton speaking out,
- links to information about this year’s seal slaughter in Canada, and plans for a world-wide protest (scheduled for 3/15/05)
