Vegans on Anthony Bourdain; “eco-terrorism”
I never heard of him before now.
I found this article on change.org: “Eat This, Bourdain”.
One of the links is to Hezbollah Tofu’s blog site. It is “A Bourdain-veganizing collective”. If you aren’t offended by bad words, what I read on this blog is uplifting in our economic crisis, and she has veganized versions (and pictures) of veganized Bourdain recipes. If you think vegan food is plain and uninteresting, check out the site for some fancy fare — and then try the recipes!
While perusing that blog, I followed a link on her wedding cupcake post that lead to an article on “Green is the New Red” site — “FBI Looking for Informants to Infiltrate Vegan Potlucks”. Bourdain is mentioned in the article, so I won’t try to find some other excuse for posting it on this particular blurb.
Here’s the current blog homepage, if you want to read what’s new. And now, I am straying off onto the topic of “eco-terrorism”.
And that brings me back to change.org’s ideas to repeal the “Animal Enterprise Terrorist Act”, one of which, I posted a comment. (The second entry actually has a more compelling explanation of why AETA should be repealed. But I’m sorry that there’s a duplication, because it will divide votes, and keep the idea lower on the list that it might otherwise be.)
Repeal AETA
Rescind the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act
I hope that the FBI will take notice that the Animal Rights community and other social justice groups that they might deem “terrorists” are working through the democratic system, trying to change the way government addresses the issues we care about most. So save the taxpayer’s money and go after the real terrorists that threaten our country’s safety.
(Thank God for the First Amendment.)
Update 3/24/09: I just re-read this, and it doesn’t make any sense. The only way it would is if you would actually go to the links to see what I’m talking about. So I’m going to leave it as is. But I just wanted to acknowledge my lack of coherence, in case someone runs across this page and wonders what I’m trying to say.
