An amusing search that led someone to this site

I was just checking my site stats. One thing I like to look at is what people search for that led them here. It’s interesting to know if it pertains to gardening, animal issues, religion or lyrics to “Lift Every Voice and Sing”.

I was amused when someone did a search for “why would someone steal bags of grass out of my front yard”. Don’t they know how valuable grass clippings are? (I’m half-joking.) Grass clippings are gold not only as garden mulch or path mulch, but as a layer in a Lasagna Garden, and also makes great “biomass” for a compost heap. I’m new to composting. But I suspect that grass clippings decompose a lot more quickly than leaves.

I wonder if it is against the law to steal other people’s bags of yard waste. I would think it’s a good thing to keep it out of the dump or wherever it’s taken.

Oh, the bags are probably valuable, too. I just used the bags I brought the church’s yard waste home in as the bottom layer of my extended Lasagna Garden a couple of days ago — primarily to kill the grass. And then I covered them with the bag full of the church’s pine needles.

Anyway, the person’s search led to this, which came up # 1 out of 25,500. (But “stole” in the search outcome wasn’t because I stole bags of grass clippings from the church. It was because someone apparently stole the veggie burgers out of the church’s refrigerator, which was meant for me when they had a cook-out for the volunteers who came to help clean up the grounds.)
